Abstract

Objective To evaluate the fractional anisotrophy(FA) alternations of white matter in patients with mild cognitive impairment(MCI) with diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) . Methods Twenty-three patients with MCI and 26 healthy controls were studied. FA values were measured in different brain regions and then compared between the two groups. Results FA decreased in both sides of parahippocampal gynus and the right side of temporal white matter in patients with MCI. Conclusion Abnormality of the white matter integrity in bilateral parahippocampal gynus and the right temporal lobe can be observed in patients with mild cognitive impairment.
