Abstract
In light of the current status of material management of Shanghai Electric Power Company,the paper analyzes the demand characterstics and supply patterns of two classes of materials that constitute a major proportion of material demand for the electrical power industry,namely engineering materials and production and maintenance materials and establishes the framework of a demand-led SCM system which can lead to structural innovations in supply chain whole process material planning,purchasing and bidding,contract compliance,distribution and transportation and information management,etc.and other related innovations in supply chain operational mechanism.
