Abstract

Three regional populations(Hankou:CP_1,Hanyang:CP_2,Wuchang:CP_3) of Cachesium polypinum in Wuhan were analysed using randomly amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD) technique. Based on RAPD data, the pairwise genetic similarity of the three populations were 0.6921 on average, ranging from 0.6522 to 0.7385.The genetic similarity (S) between CP_2 and CP_3 was the greatest, and S between CP_1 and CP_3 was the least. The relationship between variations and environment, and the significance of RAPD analysis of genetic diversity of Cachesium polypinum were discussed.
