Study on community structure of phytoplankton in Nanji Island Sea Area

Abstract

The species composition and cell abundance of phytoplankton and its seasonal variation in Nanji Islands Sea Area were studied from 2006 to 2007.Totally,93 taxon belonging to 4 phyla were observed,among them,68 taxon in 35 genera belonged to Bacillariophyta,21 taxon in 11 genera for Dinophyta,2 taxon in 1 genus for Cyanophyta and 2 taxon in 1 genus for Chrysophyta.Along with different seasons,the main dominant species of phytoplankton were changed.Annual average cell abundance of phytoplankton is 319.03 /mL.The higher cell abundance just occurred in spring and summer.Besides,several ecological indexes of phytoplankton community were analyzed.
