Abstract

Objective:To observe the clinical effect of senile skin pruritus treated with epinastine and cimetidine combined with external washout with traditional Chinese herbs.Method:94 patients of outpatient treatments on aged skin pruritus were randomly divided into the treatment group(n=49)and the control group(n=45),the control group was treated with epinastine and cimetidine, the treatment group was treated with the same way besides external washout with traditional Chinese herbs.Result:The cure rate was 71% in the treatment group, the total effective rate was 88%,it was respectively 44%,76% in the control group,so there were remarkable differences on the cure rate between two groups(P0.05),but there was no remarkable difference on the total effective rate(P0.05).The recurrence rates were 26% after 3-month drug withdrawal,46% after 6-month drug withdrawal in the treatment group and it was respectively 60% and 75% in the control group. The recurrence rates in the control group were significantly higher than that in the treatment group(P0.05).Conclusion:Integrative traditional Chinese and western medicine has good curative effect and can reduce recurrence rate on the senile pruritus.
