Clinical Study on Motive Moxibustion and Acupuncture in Treating Prolapse of Lumbar Intervertebral Disc

Objective To observe the effect of motive moxibustion,acupuncture on prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc.Methods According to random sample the 200 subjects were divided into two groups: therapy group in which 100 cases were treated by motive moxibustion and acupuncture and comparison group in which 100 cases were treated by pure acupuncture.The curative effects after 3 periods of treatment(21 days) were analyzed statistically.Results The 100 cases of prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc treated in therapy group,14 cases were cured,76 cases were improved,10 cases were ineffective,the total effectiveness rate being 90.0%;The 100 cases treated in comparison group,5 cases were cured,73 cases were improved,22 cases were ineffective,the total effectiveness rate being 78.0%.A huge difference in total effectiveness rate exists between the two groups(P0.05).Conclusion The effect of motive moxibustion and acupuncture on prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc is better than that of pure acupuncture,and has a significant clinical directive function.
