Mao Zedong is not only the great Marxist, proletarian revolutionist, strategist and theoretician; he is also a great national hero. In order to save the nation, Mao Zedong embarked on the revolutionary road with the Marxism and became a Marxist. Chairman Mao's greatest contribution is that he led the Chinese people to struggle against the reactionary rule of imperialism and feudalism and made the Chinese nation stand in the family of nations. In order to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, Mao led the party and the people achieving the historical transition of Chinese society from a new- democratic to a socialist society, establishing the basic socialist system in China, and beginning the great march of socialist construction. The reason for Mao becoming the great national hero lies in his values and world outlook.
