Upsurge of Chinese Popular Culture and Changes of Cultural Structure

The upsurge of the contemporary China's popular culture has led to the disintegration of the traditional cultural structures.The combination of the traditional social main culture and the elite culture has changed into three separate cultural structures of the main culture,the elite culture and the popular culture.The upsurge of the popular culture and the change of the cultural structure are the two aspects of the same process and they are the outcome of the transformation of the Chinese society.The upsurge of China's popular culture and the change of the cultural structure are historically inevitable and rational.But the Chinese cultural structure in reality is not an ideal cultural structure.For the popular culture has the double characters: freeing people and control people.To overcome these two contradictory qualities and to construct the ideal cultural system needs on the one hand the self-readjustment of all the cultural forms within the cultural field and the coordination of political field and economic field on the other hand.
