Abstract
Concentrating on image, which imagist poetry shares with classical Chinese poetry, the writer, having made a comparative study of the nature and significance of image in and the visual feature of both poetry, holds that it is the former's different artistic conception and different idea on art from the latter that contribute to its formalist tendency.
