Abstract

Objective To analyse the value of RPR (rapid plasma reagin circle test) and TPPA (treponema pallidum antibody particles agglutinate test) for syphilis diagnosis and treatment. Methods A total of 249 cases of syphilis,100 cases of non-syphilis and 80 cases of normal with RPR and TPPA joint test and analysis were performed. Results Among the 249 cases of syphilis with the positive rates of the TPPA and RPR were respectively 100% and 75.9%,100 cases of non-syphilis patients with the positive rates of the TPPA and RPR were respectively 0.0% and 4.0%,80 healthy volunteers with the positive rates of the TPPA and RPR were 0.0% all.Compare the TPPA and RPR results of syphilis and control, the difference was statistically significant(P0.05).Conclusion Both of TPPA and RPR are fast and efficient ways on syphilis diagnosis, but TPPA as a confirmatory diagnosis test,it's specificity and sensitivity is significantly higher than RPR,in turn RPR is significantly better than TPPA on the value of clinical therapeutic effect observation.
