Abstract
The method of ecological footprint can quantitatively reflect the degree of pressure and the impacts of human activities on natural environment. This article is based on the introducing of the ecological footprint method, then the ecological footprint and ecological carrying capacity of Nanjing in 2010 were calculated and analyzed. The results show that ecological footprint per capita was 4.21hm2,the current ecological carrying capacity per capita was 0.33hm2,and there appears ecological deficit. The authors analyse the reason of ecological deficit according to the result of calculations. At last,to promote the Sustainable Development in Nanjing Countermeasures and suggestions are made combining the specific situation of Nanjing.
