Expression and siginficance of IGF-1R and VEGF-C in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma

Objective To detect the expression of IGF-1R and VEGF-C in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC),and investigate its siginficance.Methods The expression of IGF-1R and VEGF-C on tumor tissues from 95 ESCC patients and 40 non-cancer tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry.The expression of IGF-1R and VEGF-C on tumor tissues from 20 ESCC patients and 20 non-cancer tissues were detected by Western-blot.Results The positive frenquency of IGF-1R and VEGF-C in ESCC were 81.05 %(77/95),67.37 %(64/95) respectively.And the expression of those in non-cancer were 20.00 %(8/40),5.00 %(2/40).There was statistical significance between cancer and non-cancer(P0.01).The positive frenquency of IGF-1R and VEGF-C in ESCC were0.58±0.03、0.43±0.05 respectively by Western-blot(P0.05).The expression rate of IGF-1R was strongly associated with VEGF-C(P0.05).Conclusion Expression of IGF-1R and VEGF-C raise in ESCC.Both of them may play important roles in the occurrence,development and metastasis of ESCC.
