Abstract
Using the remote sensing image, the distribution patterns and movement tendency of suspended sediment and the imfluence of sediment movement in the Yangtze River Mouth is analyzed. It's proposed that sediment from the Yangtze River Mouth will not affect the sea area of Yangshan Harbor directly. On one hand, the flow in the sea area is affected with heavy sedimentbearing flow of ebb and flood tides from Hangzhou Bay,on the other hand, the flows surrounding the islands formed complicated circumfluence, which bring on the local concentration increasing. The local heavy siltcarrying caused by island effect is the commonness of islands and islets of Hangzhou Bay.
