Abstract

Frequency variations of landfall tropical cyclones(TCs) including the ratio of landfall TCs numbers to TCs numbers in the northwest Pacific were analyzed by using the tropical cyclones dataset(1949—2009) from China Typhoon Website, and the changes of landfall TCs numbers in provinces affected seriously were investigated. Results indicate that ratio of landfall TCs numbers to TCs numbers in the northwest Pacific increases, and the frequency variations of landfall TCs decrease, but the frequency variations of landfall typhoon are not obvious.Furthermore, the frequency variations of landfall TCs in Guangdong,Hainan,Taiwan and Fujian provinces also decrease, especially in Hainan province.
