From constitutional monarchy to democracy republican system——the mental journey of Yuan Shi-kai after the Wuchang Uprising

According to the old opinion about Xinhai Revolution,Yuan was playing an negative role during that time.In the first place,he took the crisis of Wuchang as hostage with Qing government;then he used the army of the government to threaten the revolution;finally,he made the Qing emperor abdicated and Yuan became the president of the Republic of China.This view has it rationality in the past time,however,it is not comes from the historical materials.This article restores Yuan's mental journey after Wuchang uprising on the basis of both the old and new historical dada,shows his hesitate,vacillate and finally change.This text thinks,as a minister in late Qing dynasty,Yuan is a very important pushing hand for the political revolution in late Qing time.We can see that when Yuan returned to the political stage,he wanted to use the political crisis to push the political revolution in order to made the constitutional monarchy come true in China.At last,all various sectors decided to abandon it,that's the reason why Yuan became a limited republican.
