On the Causes for Frequent Uprisings of Xiangxi Miao People in the Ming and Qing Dynasties

The causes for Xiangxi Miao people to uprise frequently in the Ming and Qing dynasties can be interpreted from the following four aspects: the increasing dissension between Han and Miao people as the indirect cause;the difference of the cultures between Han and Miao people as the complicated courses;the long-term segregation and killing policy the governments had been carrying out deepened Miao people's bitterness;the official corruption was the immediate cause of the Miao People's uprising.
