Abstract

Objective To evaluate the ocular anterior segment configuration by menas of ultrasound biomicroscopy in patients with primary angleclosure glaucoma after trabeculectomy. Methods The study included 30 eyes of 30 patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma in which trabeculectomy was performed and 30 eyes of 30 age-matched control subjects.UBM was used to measure ocular anterior segment in all eyes. The patients with glaucoma were examined 1 day before surgery and 1 month after surgery. Results There were significant differences between glaucoma before or after surgery and control subjects.Angle width was significantly greater but no significant changes were observed in anterior chamber depth and other references after surgery. Conclusion Combined trabeculectomy can partly improve ocular anterior segment of primary angle-closure glaucoma.
