Wang Zhi,Xu Hai and other maritime groups of Huizhou run rampant for a while on sea in mid and late Ming Dynasty. On the basis of the government and the traditional concept,they are heinousbuccaneers,pirates. However,if we place the action of Wang Zhi and Xu Hai in the social and economic changes of the historical process of transformation during the Ming and Qing Dynasties,the contemporary social impact of Wang Zhi,Xu Hai and otherpiratesreally can not be ignored. When we read the Ming and Qing literature,we had access to some legendary novels of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties,such as Wang Cui- qiao Biography. From these novels,we can appreciate the times change of the comments that the people at that time on thesebuccaneers,piratesand some other diametrically different written. It can help us multi-angled observe thepiratesproblem of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasties.
