Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of simvastatin (m ade in China)in hyperlipidemia.Methods:Fifty-four cases with hy percholesterolemia and combined dyslipidemia were given simvastatin(made in Chin a) 10 mg/d for 4 weeks.Simvastatin(made in China)20 mg/d would be given if the p ercentage of TC reduction was yet below 10%.Results:①After the treatment of simvastatin(made in China),TC and TG and LDL-C of fifty-three pat ients were significantly decreased while HDL-C elevation was statistically significant(P0.05).②TC and LDL-C were significantly reduce d as well as (TC-HDL-C)/HDL-C in hyper-cholesterolemia(P0.01). ③Simvast atin(made in China) significantly reduced TG and TC and LDL-C(P0.01,P 0.05) in combined dyslipidemia. ④The extents to reduction of TC and TG were rel ated to their levels before treatment.⑤The total effective rate of simvastatin was 88.7% with rarely mild adverse reactions. Conclusion:Simvasta tin(made in China) can effectively not o nly reduce the level of serum lipid including TC and TG as well as LDL-C and ( TC-HDL-C)/HDL-C but also elevate the HDL-C's level. The recommended dose is 1 0 mg/d with rarely mild adverse reactions, and the dose may be increased to 20 mg /d in some few cases with markedly increased TC and LDL-C.
