Abstract
Objective To compare the efficiencies of flow cytometry and manual counting in measuring circulating endothelial cells.Methods Flow cytometry and manual counting were applied to measure circulating endothelial cells in 20 blood routine samples.Results There was significant positive correlation (r=0.993) between the results of two methods; Recovery rate of flow cytometry was better than that of manual counting (93.3% vs 66.7%); The exactitude of flow cytometry was better than manual counting.Conclusion The efficiency of flow cytometry was superior to manual counting in measuring circulating endothelial cells.
