The Preliminary Study on Poetry Notes in the Ice Bar——"New Artistic Conception in the Former Style"

Liang Qichao's Poetry Notes in the Ice Bar , as the theoretical summary of the poetry revolution, plays an important role and has the unique value in the process of the disintegration of the classic poetry and the emergence of the contemporary poetry. The idea of New Artistic Conception in the Former Style, which was put forward in Poetry Notes in the Ice Bar, comes from the idea of SAN CHANG SHUO: artistic conception, sentences and classic style, which was initiated in The Hawaii Travel. The notion exerted great influence on the later poetry revolution. Unfortunately its significance has not been noticed in academic circles. The article aims at casting a light on the dialectical relation of new artistic conception and new style as well as their connotations, with the hope to reveal the unique value in the important idea on poetry.
