Abstract
Objective To evaluate the mechanism that bacteria growing in biofilm always resist to antimicrobial agents, and investigate the effect of azithromycin on the AmpC and ESBLs produced in the biofilm. Methods Model of Escherichia coli bacterial biofilm was built up with the modified flat-board method and identified with confocal scanning laser microscopy.ESBLs and AmpC were detected by improved three dimensional test. Results The detection rates of AmpC,ESBLs and AmpC+ESBLs in isolated Escherichia coli(group A) were 5.0%(2/40),20.0%(8/40),5.0%(2/40),respectively;The detection rates of AmpC,ESBLs and AmpC+ESBLs in BF Escherichia coli(group B)were 15.0%(6/40),47.5%(19/40),22.5%(9/40),respectively;The detection rates of AmpC,ESBLs and AmpC+ESBLs in BF Escherichia coli treated with azithromycin(group C)were 7.5%(3/40),25%(10/40),12.5%(5/40),respectively.Conclusions Azithromycin can inhibit the formation of the AmpC and ESBLs produced in the biofilm.
