Investigation of Combined Muzzle Brake Mounted on Warship

Abstract

Along with the muzzle energy of large caliber naval gun increasing by a wide margin,recoil resistance correspondingly increased,and mass of naval gun also continuously increased.Aimed at the contradiction problems of too large recoil resistance of muzzle brake and the influence of side face shock wave on equipment mounted on warship after retrofitting muzzle brake,with the aid of eddy current front jet principle and silencer principle,theory technical solution of combined type of muzzle brake was put forward.Theoretical analysis and test results showed that the combined type of muzzle brake can effectively solve the contradiction problems of recoil efficiency and the influence of shock wave on equipment mounted on warship,and this kind of muzzle brake can provide theoretical basis for mounting the muzzle brake on large caliber naval gun.
