Abstract

Two typical extratropical storm surge in 2010 in the Bohai Sea has been analyzed. It is found that the peak of storm surge is along the west coast of the Bohai Sea from the north to the south and the occuring time for the peak storm surge at each station shows a stable time lag.Based on the unstructured grid storm surge high-resolution model(ADCirc) and the extratropical storm surge model developed by NMEFC(CES) respec-tively,the 20101212 extratropical storm surge is simulated. The results of comparative analysis of the pros and cons has analyzed. With the synthesis wind-field data based on the stations, the numerical simulation result has the obvious improvement in the storm surge trends, the peak value and the peak time, indicating that the method has a certain amount usefulness on optimizing the storm surge at local stations.
