Abstract
This dissertation analyses the root of positivism in western thought,and main ideas of positivism,which include empiricism,unifying science and value-free.Based this idea,it reveals the background of post-positivism philosophy of social science,introduces four concepts and mostly six regions in philosophy of social science.This dissertation points that,studying philosophy of social science,for clarifying the function of philosophy in social science,enhancing self-awareness of methodology in social science,re-orienting the relation between social science and natural science,has an important epistemological significance.
