Abstract

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of surgical treatment for obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS). Methods Clinical data of 43 OSAHS patients receiving surgical treatment were analyzed retrospectively. All patients were followed-up and their therapeutic effects were observed. Results All 43 cases were followed up for at least 3 months and 41 were effective.Thirty-three of 39 cases,18 of 23 cases and 12 of 17 cases were effective at the time-points of 6,12,and 18 months postoperatively. No severe complications occurred in all 43 cases. Conclusion Reasonable selection of patients and proper choice of surgical procedures according to the obstructive site in the upper airway for the OSAHS can improve the therapeutic effect.
