Abstract

Ye Xie's On Poems stemmed from the course of self-examination of poetics during the period of ShunZhi and KangXi in Qing Dynasty.Its theory focused on the interpretation of four pairs of areas.With Change being the core,On Poems sorted out the origin and development of poetic history and evaluated the value of Tang and Song poetry.On Poems laid a theoretical foundation for the wide dissemination of Song poetry,and was an important element for poetics in the Qing Dynasty to get rid of the narrow controversy between dynasties and for Tang and Song poetry to communicate with each other.
