Vascular endothelial growth factor: its effects on perineonates

Abstract

Vascular endothelial growth factor is an important angiogenic factor, which mainly produced by vascular endothelial cells. It plays potent roles in angiogenesis and maintenance of integrity and permeability of blood vessels. So the growth of embryo and fetus depends upon VEGF. The abnormal secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor greatly affects the perineonates.
