Abstract

Objective:To investigate the prevention and treatment of peritoneal fibrosis in long-term peritoneal dialysis patients. Methods:Forty male Wistar rats were divided into four groups,Group A(n=10),B(n=10)medicine group,angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor(inhibace) 10 mg/kg/day was given orally to rats by gastric gavage in the morning once a day.C(n=10) medicine group Aldosterone receptor blocker.100 mg/kg·day was given orally to rats by gastric gavage in the morning once a day.D(n=10)control group, received no treatment.Groups A B and C received daily intraperitoneal injection of 20 mL 4.25% Beter dialysate,on day 1,3,5,7,these rats was given intraperitoneal injection of LPS 0.6 mg/kg.Thirty days later all rats were sacrificed.TGF-β expression were examined in abdominal cavity liquid of peritoneal dialysis rats.Histopathology of parietal peritoneum was examined.Results:TGF-β obviously increased in Both A B and C groups as compared to D group(P0.01),group A is more serious than group B and C(P0.01),so do histopathology of peritoneum. Conclusion:Both Aldosterone receptor blocker and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor are benefit to the prevention and treatment of peritoneal fibrosis.
