Abstract

Objective To investigate the chemical constituents in the stems of Ficus tsiangii. Methods The constituents were isolated by silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 gel columns, and semi-preparative liquid chromatography, and the structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analyses. Results Thirteen compounds were isolated and their structures were identified as taraxerol(1), taraxerone(2), lupeolacetate(3), oleanic acid(4), ursolic acid(5), 6, 7-dihydroxy-coumarin(6), xanthyletin(7), umbelliferone(8), 6-carboxy-umbelliferone(9), apigenin(10), 5, 7-dihydroxy-chromone(11), luteolin(12), and 5, 7, 2′, 4′-tetrahydroxyflavone(13). Conclusion Compounds 6, 7, 9, and 11 are isolated from the genus Ficus Linn. for the first time, and all the compounds except compounds 1, 2, 4, and 8 are isolated from the plant for the first time.
