Abstract
Objective To investigate the outcome of smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis cases and toevaluate the therapeutic effect of communicable pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods The post-one-year outcome of the smear positive pulmon ary tuherculosis from January 1997 to June 2001 was analysed. Results The smear positive pulmonary tuberculosis patients were treated by 6-month-term interm ittent chemotherapy.5-year cure rate is 96.9%.Smear positive rate descended to 1.1%.Conclusion It's an effective measure for control of source of infection to use directly supervisory chemotherapy.
