The efficacy of amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate in treatment of respiratory infection

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate in control of respiratory infection. Methods: This was a single-blind, randomized control trial. Ninety-four patients with respiratory infection were randomly divided into experiment group and control group. Results: Between experiment group and control group, the effective rate was 89.58% and 89.13% respectively, the bacterial clearance rate was 95.00% and 89.13% respectively, side-effect rate was 8.3% and 6.52% respectively. Conclusion: Amoxicillin/potassium clavulanate is effective and well tolerated in the treatment of respiratory infection.
