Productivity Effects of China's High-tech Industry Vertical Specialization

Abstract

This article selects the three-digits-industry panel data of China's high-tech industries during the period of 1995 to 2008.Under the conditions of considering RD input,trade openness and ownership structure,it using GMM method examine the vertical specialization influence on the productivity growth.The results show that the vertical specialization makes a significant impact on TFP, technological progress and technical efficiency.But state-owned property is against the productivity growth.In addition,RD manpower has a negative impact on the technical efficiency.
