Abstract
Objective The aim of the present study is to establish a method for assessing intelligence disability of victims in traffic accidents. Method Professional people assessed intelligence to patient with traumatic brain injury in traffic accidents by using 4 kinds of methods. Results P300, was related to the results of assessment by Intellectual Retardation diagnosis (125 case, rs = 0.952, P 0.01). The results of assessing by the Adult Intelligence Disability Scale were related to the results of assessment by Intellectual Retardation diagnosis (129 case, rs = 0.963, P 0.01). Intellectual Quotient(IQ) by Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale was not related with the results of assessment by Intellectual Retardation diagnosis (4 case, rs = 0.099, P 0.05). Conclusion Intellectual Retardation diagnosis according to the Chinese Classify of Mental Disorders, PM, Adult Intelligence disability Scale and IQ were useful to assess the intelligence disability in patients with traumatic brain injury in traffic accidents. Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale was not good enough to assess patient' s intelligence disability when the victims in traffic accidents camouflages.
