Abstract

Cerium content in glass sample can be determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry with treatment of perchloric acid, hydrofluoric acid and hydrochloric acid. The characteristic spectral line of cerium is chosen as 418.659 nm.The spectrum harassment were eliminated by Fitted background correction. The precision experiment indicated clearly that the relative standard deviation(RSD)in 10 times repeated determination of the same sample was less than 1%.Results of recovery test by standard addition method ranged between 92% and 110%.This method has been applied successfully to the analysis of cerium in glass.
