Clinical Observation on 100 Cases of Hyperuricemia in Community Treated with Chinese Medicine

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy on hyperuricemia treated with Chinese medicine.Methods 100 cases of hyperuricemia were collected from community clinic and were divided randomly into a treatment group and a control group,50 cases in each one.In treatment group,according to pattern differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine,the cases were differentiated into retention of damp heat pattern and blood stagnation pattern and they were treated with Chinese medicine correspondingly.In control group,tongfengding capsule were prescribed.The adjuvant treatment was applied to either group,including diet control and tea drink for reducing uric acid.The cases in either group were treated for 3 months.The changes in symptoms,physical signs and serum uric acid were compared before and after treatment in two groups.Results The statistical significant differences in the total effective rate and curative rate presented between two groups(P0.05,P0.01).The level of serum uric acid was improved before and after treatment in either group(P0.05 or P0.01).But the improvement in treatment group was obviously superior to that in control group,indicating statistical significant difference(P0.01).Conclusion The treatment of hyperuricemia according to pattern differentiation in traditional Chinese medicine achieves superior efficacy of reducing serum uric acid and controlling gout attack as compared with Chinese patent medicine,tongfengding capsule.Additionally,the overall symptoms of the patients are relieved apparently.
