Perfect Aspect in Min Xianyou Dialect

The comparative study of China's southeast dialects holds that Perfect Aspect is the equivalent of了 2 the category of Mandarin.This paper makes a comprehensive analysis of the grammatical form,meaning,syntactic features and usages of superposition of aspect tags from ■ as the symbol of n Xianyou dialect,by taking Mandarin as a reference point.The study shows that Xianyou's Perfect Aspect ■,different from the Mandarin了 2 ,is a mature auxiliary word and it has a unique use in the category for its phonetic reduction and functional attachment.
