Abstract
Considering the fact that motor vehicle is fast increasing, this paper introduces traffic calming involving its idea, devices and measures, design, etc. The author describes the opinion that public transport and traffic calming are the developing trend of humanity-oriented urban traffic. By applying integrated traffic calming design from single technology to multi-technologies, traffic speed, volume and environment impacts are reduced. Furthermore, the following aims could be obtained: First, meeting the demand of the function and services of urban traffic; second, seeking the habitable, green and harmonious urban traffic; Last, constructing the functional, aesthetic and humanism modern traffic idea.
