Abstract

It is a popular opinion that relativism usually leads to skepticism. But it's not true. An obvious reason is that relativism is universal, which can be found in many persons, including philosophers and ordinary people, but skepticism can only be found in western thinking history. Through analyzing Zhuang Zi's relative skepticism and how his relativism weakened the generation of his skepticism, this thesis refutes the popular opinion and concludes that relativism can not produce skepticism. Essentially, relativism is not related to skepticism. Skepticism belongs to epistemology.
