Abstract

Objective To investigate the value of contrast - enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in differential diagnosis of benign and malignant gallbladder disease. Methods The characteristic of 117 patients with gallbladder disease examined by CEUS with SonoVue and contrast pulse sequence imaging technique were retrospectively analyzed. The diagnose accordance rate of benign and malignant gallbladder disease between convention ultrasound and CEUS was compared. Results Besides biliary sludge was non - enhancement, benign and malignant gallbladder diseases were mostly hyper - enhancement with abundant blood supply, gallbladder cancer was hypo - enhancement, and benign gallbladder disease mostly was iso - enhancement when contrast agent was extincted. The diagnose accordance rate of gallbladder cancer was 65. 38% and 92. 31% by convention ultrasound and CEUS respectively. The diagnose accordance rate of gallbladder benign disease was 82. 41% and 93. 41% by conventional ultrasound and CEUS respectively. Conclusion Contrast - enhanced ultrasound can improve the diagnose accordance rates of gallbladder diseases, it can discriminate biliary sludge and gallbladder cancer and obtain the invasion degree of gallbladder wall and liver metastasis. While it is difficultt for differential diagnosis of gallbladder adenoma, polypus, and gallbladder cancer with small diameter.
