This paper makes the summary of the current researches and applications of the ontology,the main contents of which include the definition of the ontology,the application of the ontology,the describing language of the ontology,and the research status of the ontology,etc.,and based on this,points out some problems existing in ontology research and the main directions of the future ontology research.
