A Partial View on Han Yu's Practical Writing

For quite a long time,Han Yu's letters were read as normal literature works.All of his essays were viewed as completely pure literature works.As a matter of fact,the so called prose in the Collections of Han Yu can be labeled as 5 groups,namely: letters,prefaces,inscriptions,petitions and essays.All those were totally practical writings.The realizing of the Han Yu's practical writing characteristic and proper summarizing of his achievements and theory advocating help to appreciate and criticize Han Yu,and they are also important for guiding practical writing today.
