Abstract

Objective To explore the application value of joint detection of the peripheral blood C-reactive protein(CRP) and white blood cell count(WBC) in children with infections. Methods 613 cases of pediatric out-patients in our hospital, the peripheral blood CRP and routine blood test was performed. Results In 613 children cases,103 cases with increased WBC/CRP heighten positive rate was 17%,163 cases with the WBC heighten/CRP normal positive rate was 26%,65 cases with the WBC normal/CRP heighten positive rate was 11%,282cases with the WBC normal/CRP normal positive rate was 46%.Conclusions Joint detection of the peripheral blood CRP and WBC will provide valuable evidence for the differential diagnosis and rational drug use.
