Abstract
Objective To study the information absorbency of Chinese Journal of Arteriosclerosis,find out the characteristics of literature request of the scientists working in the field of Ophthalmology research and analyze the trend of Ophthalmology research. Method The citation analysis is used to analyze the references cited in 926 articles in Chinese Journal of Arteriosclerosis from 2002~2004. Results Citation rate is 90.89%,and there are 11.79 citations per article. Main types of citations are journals(97.70%) and books(2.08%). The Price Index is 52.34%,and the self-citation rate is 10.16%. The citations from the high-ranked 17 journals are the 44.86% of all citations. Conclusion The articles in Chinese Journal of Arteriosclerosis concern the most journals in the medicine,the most citations are from the English journals,and its' half-cited life is longer than other journals. It shows that the use of newly-published articles should be improved.
