Abstract
The color reaction of cadmium(Ⅱ) with a new reagent DBKDAA was studied and reported in this paper. In the presence of Triton X100, cadmium(Ⅱ) reacts with DBKDAA in a borate buffer solution of pH 1100 to form a red complex with a molor ratio of 1∶4 . The apparent molar absorptivity is 2.05×105L·mol-1·cm-1, at its absorption maxima of 526nm. Beer′s law is obeyed in concentration of cadmium between 0~20μg/25ml. The method has been used to determine trace amounts of cadmium(Ⅱ) in simulated water sample with satisfactory results.
