Status Quo and Problems in the Construction of Funiushan Global Geopark

Abstract

Funiushan Global Geopark was formally approved as a member of Global Geoparks Network( GGN) by UNESCO in 2006,and successfully passed revalidations,respectively,in 2010 and 2014.This paper mainly studies the major progress in the recent protection of geological relics,geosciences popularization and etc. in Funiushan Global Geopark,and analyzes main problems of its sustainable development,combined with status quo of geopark's construction as follows: the boundary line of the geopark is not a single complete closed area; the geopark's construction development is unbalanced in different spots of the geopark; the new overall plan of the geopark has not yet been compiled.In order to solve the above problems,some countermeasures or suggestions are offered in the paper for the sustainable development of Funiushan Global Geopark.
