Abstract

Taking cow dung and straw as materials in the compost research, temperature, rate of water content,pH value and germination index were determined. The results showed that in the initial phase of compost, the temperature increased greatly, and the temperature over 50 ℃ lasted more than 16 days; The inoculated effect microorganisn reached the period of high temperature 1~4 days earlier than CK and kept this period longer;the pH values ascended in first and descended at last, and stayed stable at around 8.0 after 20 days;the rate of water content continued to decline and stayed stable at around 50% ~55% at the end;The compost with inoculating effect microorganism at 1.2 mL/kg achieved maturity after 25 days, and germination index(GI)reached 86.1%。The results indicated that addition of adequate amount of EM could speed maturity of the compost and shorten the composting period,it was of great significance to optimize the technology of composting.
