Monopoly Profit and Rent-seeking Behaviors:Tullock Rectangle and the Social Cost of Administrative Monopoly

The monopoly profit in the form of Tullock rectangle does not necessarily lead to non-productive profit-seeking behaviors.If the cause of monopoly is not administrative factors but profitable cost structure or patented technologies,the result will not be such non-productive profit-seeking behaviors as rent-seeking but the productive profit-seeking,like trying to lower cost and devoting to invention and innovation.Tullock rectangle shall not be regarded as the ordinary monopoly social cost,but as the social cost of administrative monopoly.Even if for administrative monopoly,it is hard to draw a general conclusion as to what percentage of monopoly profit shall be taken as the social cost of administrative monopoly.
