Abstract
Objective To investigate role of general pulmonary function test in diagnosis and treatment of children's asthma and evaluation of therapeutic effect. Methods The general pulmonary function of 21 children with asthma in different stages were tested by using Master Screen System: 21children in acute attack period and 28 children in remission period completed the test respectively. At the same time, the data of other 30 children in acute attack period who received bronchodilatation test were analyzed.T-test and Chi-square test were used to compared the data in different stages. Results In general pulmonary function test results: forced vital capacity(FVC),forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV1.0),forced expiratory volume in one second to forced vital capacity ratio(FEV1.0%),forced expiratory flow after 25%~75% of vital capacity has been expelled(FEF25~75) and peak expiratory flow(PEF),these were significant differences between the attack group and the remission group(t=2.47~5.37,all P0.01).The total abnormal rate of FEF25~75reached 100.00% in attack period and 53.57% in remission period, suggesting that dysfunction in small airway occurred even in remission period. These were significant differences between the attack group and the remission group in abnormal rates of FVC,FEV1.0,FEV1.0%,PEF and FEF25,FEF50 and FEF75(χ2=45.23,34.71,10.90,22.19,17.90,5.64,13.27,respectively,all P0.05).In bronchodilatation test, after atomization inhalation of ventolin,FVC,FEV1.0,FEV1.0%,PEF,FEF25~75of the children were increased significantly(t=4.76~7.01,all P0.01),suggesting that atomization inhalation of ventolin could decrease resistance of the airway quickly and improve pulmonary ventilation, which further demonstrated that the obstructed airway of the children with asthma was reversible and could be resolved. Conclusion The general pulmonary function test can be used in diagnosis and treatment of children's asthma.
