Abstract

The secondary cooling of slab continuous casting is one of the important factors affecting the quality of slab.In this paper,for the purpose of solving the problem of slab quality defects and improving slab quality in No.3 Steelmaking Plant of Handan Iron and Steel Group Co.Ltd,the nozzles of secondary cooling system are optimized.The proper types of nozzles are determined and main factors influencing the nozzle' performance analyzed.On the basis of the previous research,by means of optimization of nozzle type,pattern of nozzle arrangement and cooling water volume the central segregation of slabs has been improved and the equiaxed crystal ratio prominently raised.
